Communications Officer

As a Communications Officer, I am responsible for:

- Providing factual information to citizens, businesses, media representatives and general public on EU affairs

- Signposting citizens to the most relevant DGs/services at the Commission and other EU institutions

- Monitoring the EU policy-developments and the latest official documents released by DG COMM, in particular press-releases and statements

- Contributing to the Knowledge Database on EU cases and translating where necessary content into English, French and Portuguese

- Undertaking complex policy research and the analysis of EU policy documents

Special duties under Horizon 2020 - the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020), FP7 and other EU-funding programmes for research & innovation

- Ensuring guidance and information is made available to all potential participants, whether sole applicants or coordinators, at the time of publication of the call for proposals under H2020

- Providing via the Research Enquiry Service (RES) general information on the rules for participation, exploitation and dissemination in H2020 calls, in particular the Model Grant Agreement (MGA)

- Clarifying the 'specifics' of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) and European Research Council frontier research actions (ERC) to universities, research centres and institutes

- Developing an integrated communication approach encompassing all research, technological development and demonstration activities led by DG RTD

- Informing on the specific rules for funding such as prizes, pre-commercial procurement, public procurement of innovative solutions, the SME Instrument and the Fast Track to Innovation actions

- Escalating complex and urgent enquiries to the Research Executive Agency (REA) backoffices and to other independent bodies, in particular the EIT
