Andrea (Schwartz) McDiarmid is a native Houstonian who attended Bellaire High School. Andrea McDiarmid graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a major in English and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in psychology the following year. After teaching high school English for a brief time, Andrea McDiarmid attended Bates School of Law in Houston, where she wrote for the Law Review. Upon graduation, she moved to San Francisco to take a position at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, where she practiced anti-trust litigation. Andrea McDiarmid raised four wonderful sons and has recently moved back to Houston, where she is a lifetime learner and writes narrative nonfiction.
