Amy Welborn is the author of several books including Come Meet Jesus, Listening to God with Blessed John Paul II, and the Prove It! series for young adults. Born in 1960, Ms. Welborn spent her childhood in several different parts of the United States: Lubbock, Texas; Washington, D.C.; DeKalb, Indiana; and Knoxville, Tennessee, where she attended a Catholic high school. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s in History at the University of Tennessee before receiving her Master’s in Church History from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.Amy Welborn began her career as a teacher at various Catholic high schools, and in 1988 she began her professional writing career. Her first experience in writing was for the Florida Catholic. She then moved on to several other Catholic publications, including Our Sunday Visitor and Living Faith. In 1999 Amy made writing her full-time career.In 2009 Michael Dubruiel, Amy's husband of eight and a half years, died tragically. Her most recent book, Wish You Were Here: Travels Through Loss and Hope, outlines the story of a trip she took to Italy with her children just a few months after Michael's death. Wish You Were Here shares Amy Welborn's feelings of grief, dealing with the loss of a loved one, and reaffirmation of faith.Amy has five children and she is an avid traveler.
