I transferred out to FHSU on a softball scholarship and it has been the best move for me. Before I was not sure where my life was headed and did not know what career field I wanted to get into; FHSU has helped me along that path and has helped me direct my life in the right path. When I transferred out to Hays from MCC I was interested in the Sociology field but found a love for Communication. In my last two and a half years in Hays I have found a true love for sports information and hope use that love to get into a career with it.

I went to Mesa Community College (MCC) right out of high school to play softball. While at MCC I was a general studies major and was interested in getting into Sociology. Halfway through my sophomore year I transferred out to Fort Hays State University (FHSU) to continue on my softball career.
This is my first video for Communication 635 Mulitmedia Production. I had never used iMovie before and this was my first attempt. We were to film a simple action from three different angles. An establishing shot, close up and extreme close up. For the video I used a couple of my former teammates Yasnaya Susoeff and Abigail Morrison to create the action. I used a Flip camera to shoot the material, used iMovie to edit the footage and then uploaded it to our class account on www.youtube.com
This video is a music video based on my summer vacation in Hawaii. It was made for my Communication 635 Multimedia Production class. For this assignment we were to pick a song and create a video based on its content. We could have stills or moving video and I decided to use stills. I used iMovie to create this and exported it into QuickTime and then uploaded it onto www.youtube.com.
This is my final project in Comm635 Multimedia Production. Our project was to interview a Junior or Senior in our department, use B-roll (extra footage), text slides, stills, music and sound effects. I interviewed Natalie Fisher, a Junior at FHSU and decided to show the different forms of communication on and around campus. I used a Flip camera to take video footage and used iMovie to edit the material.
This video is from my Communication 635 Mulitmedia Production class. The majority of our assignments were to create videos, most of the time with the help of a partner. In this case my partner is Jordan Roston. I did the taping and directing of the film and Jordan did the editing with iMovie. We used a Flip Camera and then uploaded to www.youtube.com
This is video from my Communication 240 News Reporting class. For this class we were to write two news articles that have potential to be published in the Hays Daily. For our second article we were to create a video that was related to the topic we were writing about. The article was about the Student Organization Awards which were held on April 24, 2012. The video is interviewing President of student organization Up 'Til Dawn, Megan Colson. Up 'Til Dawn won student organization of the year and this is a clip of Megan saying a few words about the organization and footage of them in action. I used a Flip camera to shoot the video, used iMovie to edit the material, exported it into a quicktime file and uploaded it onto www.youtube.com
This paper is from Communication 604 Interpersonal Communication class. This class was about learning about and understanding different theories in communication. Also taking nonverbal communication into detail and learning about different behavioral patterns and what they can say about a person. “How to be a Good Roommate” is a form of an operation manual. A “how to” guide to becoming a great roommate by using subtitles labeled as “Be Polite,” “Be Tolerable,” and also using the Cognitive Valence Theory, which discusses responding to messages and creating a greater intimacy. This paper is in my portfolio because it shows the understanding of different communication theories and how to apply them to real life situations in detail. I used Microsoft Word to create this document.
