Senior Account Executive, Ogilvy Public Relations, Singapore

Ogilvy Public Relations is a global, multi-disciplinary communications leader operating in more than 80 offices across six continents.

Working with Ogilvy Technology PR allowed me to combine my skill in content creation with my immense interest in the rapidly evolving technology landscape. My roster included the regional account for Twitter, Canon and UPS.

 Responsibilities include developing communications programs and media liaison through traditional and digital channels, in addition to event management and regional coordination amongst 11 markets in Asia.

Regional Business Development Manager, Global Power Source, Singapore

GPS is Asia's primary provider of industrial and automobile storage batteries and battery monitoring systems.

Under this brand, I worked across three unique profiles - internal operations management, customer relationship management and as lead creative.

  • Creative lead in establishing a new brand identity for Enertect, a high-end power monitoring equipment for industrial use. This included, but is not limited to:
    • Procuring and managing a team of offshore contractors to execute the project
    • Liaising between contractors and the company for daily operations
    • Defining buyer personas and the brand narrative
    • Designing the overall look and identity for the brand
  • Responsibilities included relationship management with customers in the US and South East Asia; including setting up relevant infrastructure based on said customer expectations i.e. company incorporation, warehousing requirements, managing local staff etc
  • Managing existing business relationship as and when required.
  • Involved in overseeing internal pricing policies, inventory management and cash flow planning
  • Gained experience managing multiple projects in a matrixed environment

Digital Media Editor

The Asian Banker, Singapore

The Asian Banker is the leading intelligence provider for the financial services industry in the form of publications, online materials, propriety research, conventions and other industry gatherings. Clients include international and regional and banks; and software providers such as HSBC, DBS, Standard Chartered to name a few.

As Digital Media Editor for the Asian Banker, my main profile included overseeing the organisation's new media initiatives and managing support for its four core businesses. Responsibilities included:

  • Co-coordinating the development of new products and promoting new business initiatives
  • Designing and scripting content for marketing collateral, print advertisements and event/sales sites. This incorporates workflow and process management across a team of freelance and in-house creatives
  • Developing rich media content across a variety of audio and visual formats as part of the content strategy
  • Online community management of social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and LinkedIn)
  • Mobile App development and marketing
  • Content partnerships and Media Relations

The Asian Banker

Sales for core research product subscriptions, events, and advertisements for print and digital properties. Included sourcing potential clients and creating sales proposals.

Total sales generated were over $150,000.

  • Responsibilities included organising regional events held across APAC
  • Client relationship management and ability to grow and develop accounts within my portfolio
  • Acquired skills to make convincing oral sales presentations, phone calls and negotiation skills
  • Gained the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet targets/ deadlines
  • Drove revenue through making proactive sales calls (phone and email) within the banking industry to senior level executives and meeting the sales targets
  • Actively involved in expanding customer base through a variety of effective sales techniques
  • Maintained strong relations with C-level decision makers to generate repeat business

As part of the creative fraternity at JWT, I embarked on a career in creative communications under the biggest titles in the industry. Responsibilities included:

  • Conceptualising and writing campaign briefs for accounts such as Nokia, Sony and PepsiCo
  • Creating scripts for broadcast advertising
