Summary

Currently looking for a full time public relations, marketing or advertising job in the Metro-Detroit area.I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Roosevelt University in Chicago in May, with a B.A. in Integrated Communications, concentrating in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing.• Currently, I am the Project Coordinator for Bethany Baptist Church's 2010 Pictorial Directory. This requires constant communication with the directory company, church leadership and volunteers. I am also responsible for designing the directory, editing and submitting the finished directory. I am also involved in PR efforts for the summer Kids Camp as well as updating the church website on a regular basis. • I have been working with Sky Foundation, Inc. as a public relations intern via J9 Media Solutions. Throughout this internship I have written news releases and other press kit materials, researched social media initiatives and media lists, followed up with media and am working to promote their upcoming fundraiser. • I completed a 5-month internship at Roosevelt University’s Office of University Communications where I wrote several news releases that effectively communicated University news to the public, faculty and staff. I compiled media lists for various articles and wrote feature articles for the Roosevelt Review, Roosevelt’s alumni magazine. I proofread issues of the alumni magazine as well as the crisis communication plan. I also participated in the kick-off meeting for a re-branding of the University. I was then hired to do freelance work after completing my internship and wrote two articles.

• As a member of the Roosevelt Scholar’s Program, I wrote a thesis paper on “How Social Media Will Change the Way Companies Communicate.” I feel that social media can provide an additional tool that any company can use to gain new customers and to further reach its target audience. I look forward to using my knowledge and skills in social media in my future positions.
