Under direction of the Physician, provides care to the obstetrical patient during the antepartum and intrapartum phases of pregnancy
Applies knowledge of the labor and delivery process through the application and interpretation of the fetal/uterine tracing
Evauation of sterile examinations to monitor the progression of labor, or lack of progression
Monitoring and care of the patient undergoing an epidural, assist the anesthesiologist with hemodynamic monitoring
Pre-operative care and education for patient undergoing a cesarean section, and recovery and stabilization of the delivered patient.
Develop patient care plans, including assessments, evaluations and nursing diagnoses.
Assist doctors with deliveries, and repair of lacerations, Circumcisions, and bedside procedures.
