Goals

My goal is to obtain a job within the dialysis field as a hemo-dialysis technician, and to be in a workplace where I can utilize my clinical and personal skills. I love being a part of a team and working with other people.  My main goal as a dialysis technician is to put the patients safety and comfort first, and to provide patients with the best quality care possible.

Major: Dialysis Technician

Skills: Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition, psycho-social aspects, water treatment, reprocessing dialyzers, concepts and principals of hemo-dialysis, and phlebotomy.

This program has provided me with all of the necessary knowledge and skills such as performing proper documentation and assessments of patients,  efficiently initiate and terminate hemo-dialysis treatments, and how to handle the interactions with patients, coworkers, and patients families.

Completed 900 hours of Clinical and professional practicum and certification preparation/ review.

Clinical Experience: Set up of dialysis equipment, maintenance of dialysis equipment, initiation of dialysis treatment, simulated cannulation of a fistula/graft, performing venipuncture, and instruction on emergency intervention.

Certifications:  BONENT certification, OSHA, CPR/AED, and Phlebotomy eligible
