  • Young adults ages 14-19, presenting concerns include but not limited to: trauma, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, defiance, autism, and substance abuse. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and acts as role model for all residents in program
  • Ensures the provision of a physically and emotionally safe environment for all residents enrolled in the program, to adhere to all programmatic schedules, policies, and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, and to carry out the daily resident schedule as assigned
  • Contributed to the treatment of 100+ students by engaging with them in positive ways, holding healthy boundaries with them and teaching them life skills.

  • Conducted study on perception of intention of a disrespectful act reflecting the status of the actor and presence or absence of an audience.
  • Presented research on intentionality and disrespect at the Longwood Senior Seminar Poster session.

Children’s emotional response to disrespect  

  • Replicated research of a study by Blincoe and Harris (2011) on disrespect with child data set.
  • Presented research at Campbell University for the Carolinas Psychology Conference

Sexual consent: Changing the gender stereotype

  • Emphasized understanding consent, its importance on college campuses, and introducing sexual consent as a two way conversation between men and women.
  • Presented to the Office of Student Affairs at Longwood University.
