Experienced psychoanalyst Allen Levy currently fulfills several roles as an educator and practitioner. In addition to maintaining a private practice based in Westport, Connecticut, he serves as a Staff Psychotherapist at the Temenos Institute, also located in Westport. Allen Levy also works on staff at New York City's Center for Group Studies, which offers group leadership training for individuals in a variety of fields, including mental health care, education, and business. Allen Levy treats patients and provides instruction to others by drawing on his extensive educational background in psychoanalysis and social work. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New College, Dr. Levy entered the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis in 1978. While studying to become a certified psychoanalyst, he also undertook graduate studies at two separate institutions. He obtained his Master of Science in Social Work from the Columbia University School of Social Work in 1984 and his Doctor of Philosophy from Union Institute & University in 1986. At his private practice, Allen Levy assists people who have a variety of emotional or mental disorders. He also specializes in relaxation and stress-reduction techniques, including meditation. Whether working with family units or couples, or assisting individuals one-on-one, Dr. Allen Levy provides his patients with compassionate, informed care, and he tailors his diverse treatment methods to meet their unique needs. Allen Levy also strives to better serve his patients by staying current with the latest methodologies and treatment techniques in his profession. He maintains affiliations with several industry groups, including the National Association of Social Workers, the American Group Psychotherapy Association, and the Association for Transpersonal Psychology. When not working, Dr. Levy engages in hobbies such as singing, skiing, and playing the violin.
