In my third year of high school, I attended a Christian revival, and the pastor talked about those who do the Lord’s work in vain because they do not have a relationship with Him. The message convicted me because I was involved in my church and Christian union at school, but I had not accepted the gift of salvation. I did not want to be among those who call the Lord, "Lord" and not end up in heaven. I received the Lord’s salvation that day. November 28th, 2004.
While working as a Christian radio and TV host, and after listening to some podcasts by renown preachers, I felt led to attend seminary so I can be able to efficiently and effectively interpret and teach scripture. In August of 2014, I started attending Criswell College and will graduate in May 2018 with a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Leadership.
What I feel is most important in ministry is discipleship and missions. As a student pastor, I desire to see the students grow in faith and understanding of who God is through a proper interpretation of scripture. I'm a believer in "what you win them with is what you win them to." Even though activities and fun are important, what is paramount is a profound biblical knowledge powered by the Holy Spirit. With the understanding of scripture comes the desire to reach out to the lost. I also feel very strongly about involving parents because they are the primary teachers of what the students know.
