A specialist in pain management, Alicja Steiner is a Polish-born MD with extensive education and training in both Poland and the United States. Dr. Steiner currently owns a private practice and is affiliated with a number of medical institutions. She is on the staff at Pomerado Hospital, the Pacific Surgical Institute of Pain Management, Coastal Surgery Center, and Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion. She is licensed to practice medicine in her native Poland and in the state of California. Alicja Steiner, MD began her medical education in 1985 at the Warsaw School of Medicine. In 1989, she became a junior lecturer at the school in the Department of Human Anatomy and Biochemistry. In 1991 she began a transitional internship at the Postgraduate Medical Center of the Military Medical School in Warsaw. Upon completion of her internship in 1992, she moved to New York and undertook a general surgery residency at the Cabrini Medical Center. In 1995, Dr. Steiner moved on to the New York University Medical Center, where she conducted a residency in anesthesiology and subsequently engaged in a pain management fellowship.A member of the San Diego County Medical Society and the American Academy of Pain Management, Dr. Alicja Steiner continuously updates her education; since 2000 she has passed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support exam, the Neonatal Resuscitation Program exam, and the Qualified Medical Examiner exam. Dr. Steiner has updated her education in pain management and anesthesia and in the early 2000s undertook a course in acupuncture. Dr. Steiner is a dedicated clinician and creates an environment of respect and concern in her practice.
