It is my responsibility to represent the company by promoting a good professional image to the customer whilst demonstrating excellent customer service and dealing with all visitors and telephone callers in an efficient an courteous manner. I work in a high pressure sales environment, dealing with customer calls and liaising with other dealerships in Truro, Exeter and Taunton. I must ensure that all customers and clients are made comfortable; receiving them in a welcoming and friendly fashion and ensuring that they are handed over to the correct contact quickly and efficiently. 

I am responsible in keeping an up to date telephone log with customer information and contact details, directing all incoming calls promptly and ensuring that all messages are relayed accurately and with as much detail as possible to create a smooth transaction between customer and the service department, parts department or salesperson, . If ever a sales person is unavailable I am responsible for finding out as much about the customers enquiry as possible, showing them around the cars and then obtaining detailed information including but not limited to the preferred car choice from within the range, model lines and engine size, mileage, age, specification, interiors, preferred transmission and contact details. I am also responsible for ensuring that the showroom is kept clean and presentable at all times and updating customer details on our system.

I have also been involved with the set up and running of one-off promotional events such as the Yealmpton Show and Mercedes Benz SUV event, working on the day, gathering contact information to form any potential leads. I have gained a strong knowledge about the Mercedes-Benz vehicle range, which I can comfortably discuss with customers, showing my genuine enthusiasm talking about the cars.

Operations Partner


Moving from my previous role as a Supermarket Assistant within the store, I am now part of the Operations team. My duties and responsibilities vary on a daily basis, allowing me to learn much more about the business and the work that goes on within each of the sections; Ambient, Fresh Foods, Customer Service, Food Service and Hospitality. These duties and responsibilities include the deliverance of excellent customer service by working flexibly as part of a  team, ensuring that stock is replenished and displayed to required standards. To adhere to hygiene and health and safety standards at all times and the ability to maintain effective performance under pressure.The role requires a knowledge and understanding of trade standards, increased numerical ability and a great attention to detail. Work includes reduction maintenance, customer service, audit responsibilities, date and ticket checks and product donations. The role also requires the handling of telephone queries from outside organisations, customers and internal departments. I am also trained accordingly to work and support other departments within the store, should my help be required.

Supermarket Assistant - Fresh Foods


Role required the use of excellent customer service and communication skills. Responsibilities included the handling and stocking of fresh foods, ensuring that all produce handled adheres to legal regulations and is presented in a clean and tidy manner. I also dealt with in-store customer queries, stock management and recovery. Being a member of the John Lewis Partnership, there is a huge expectation to uphold the brand name and deliver impeccable customer service. Working within this role also encouraged a development in confidence, team working skills and the need to work within strict time restrictions.

Honours Project: A portfolio of golfing events: What motivates active and passive participation? 

Overview: The study enabled the identification of the primary and secondary motivations experienced by both active and passive golfers when attending live golfing events at local, regional, national and international levels.

As part of a team of 3 other Events Management Undergraduates, we organised a casino networking event for local Businesses and Plymouth University Students, in association with the Plymouth University Business Society. The Event aimed to bring together students and businesses in a lighthearted social setting; engaging with the other guests and trying their luck at competing for a variety of non-cash prizes.
I was particularly responsible for the marketing of the event; creating advertising documents and designing promotional material.
Throughout this process I was required to work closely and efficiently within a team, sticking to strict deadlines, creating business plans, event proposals, marketing schemes and managing a team of volunteers on the night. The organisation of this event ensured that I adapt to changing situations & environments in order to be successful.

Voluntary Experience

RNLI: Events Volunteer for the 2013 Castle to Castle Swim and the organisation of future events. I also completed some administration work for the community fundraising manager to help with the collection of data for regional events. 

St Mellion International Golf and Country Club: Organisation and running of events at the 2013 and 2014 Ladies Captains' days. This involved the registration of competitors and the setup and running of the half-way house. 

Cancer Research UK: Marshall and Collection Volunteer working around the local area and during the 2014 Plymouth Half Marathon. 

University of Plymouth: Volunteer supporting the set-up, running and dismantling of events such as the Valentines Fayre and Chinese New Year Banquet Celebrations.


Volunteer dog walker (Sept 2014 - Present). I volunteer 1-2 times per week to take out dogs who require extra walking 

Hobbies/ Interests

Freelance Artist:

Oil paintings created on a commission basis as well as the distribution of limited edition prints to a local store. Predominantly working on Motorsports related pieces.

In addition to the work I do at home, I have also been commissioned by Waitrose Saltash to complete several large scale paintings that illustrate the branch's business plan and other targets. Work on the painting began early July 2014 and is updated regularly on an ad hoc basis.
