S. Ali Ahmed

Summary

An MBA graduate who has worked with Unilever and GSK in Brand Management and Business Development respectively, currently working as a Management Consultant in Kuwait. At Unilever, he assisted in the management of a $50 Million brand, Brooke Bond Supreme, which is also the company’s second largest brand in terms of volume and value, and the best selling brand of tea in Pakistan. He was brought on at a crucial time for the brand during its re-launch phase and helped turnaround the mature brand to deliver nearly 13% growth after almost two years of decline through an innovative 360 degree marketing campaign and several initiatives targeting rural markets. Apart from this, he also worked on developing the tea-bag variant and flavored tea subbrand for Supreme. At GSK, he worked in the Business Development division, where he constructed the entire generics range for the company, including a product portfolio of 21 brands. Additionally, he led several BD projects including company acquisition studies, industry audits, joint-venture agreements, and outsourcing projects. He had initially joined GSK as a BD Co-ordinator, but based on performance he was promoted to Assistant Manager in under four months. He aspires to own and operate a global business within a decade.
