  • Develop targeted strategies for social media platforms in order to generate brand awareness and drive traffic, resulting in a 50% increase in clients coming in through the company website.

Responsible for organizing and launching the first spoken word competition in the City of Ottawa’s Student Showcase – now a permanent feature in the City of Ottawa’s annual events

  • Spearheaded the spoken word competition in the Student Showcase which resulted in a 20% increase in ticket sales and a sold out show in both 2014 and 2015.
  • Organized fundraising activities and developed promotional content to enhance event awareness.
  • Developed registration and information packages for contestants and sponsors.
  • Led youth auditions and engaged the spoken word community to assist in the judging panel.
  • Spearheaded the sponsorship campaign and secured new long-term sponsors.
  • Trained and coordinated a team of 5 volunteers.
  • Completed diversity training and extensive hands-on experience with youth and artists that identified as visible minorities, aboriginal and persons with disabilities.

Marketing Team Lead

NESTEA, The Recruit, Inventa

Acted as team lead and organizer of Nestea’s nationwide marketing challenge, The Recruit, designed after the game show The Apprentice.

  • Led the Carleton University branch and recruited teams to join the nationwide competition
  • Planned and coordinated all promotional events and implemented strategies to successfully promote the competition
  • Produced all written content on social media, prepared a press release for campus radio and paper, and organized and recorded student auditions
  • Two of the teams from my branch reached the final stages of the national competition
