Dr. Alfred Neuhoff currently serves as an Emergency Room Physician and Hospitalist at Boscobel Area Health Care, which provides Wisconsin residents with 24-hour emergency care. Dr. Neuhoff was first introduced to the ER while completing a residency at Wausau Family Practice and garnered more experience while assisting the Eagle River Memorial Hospital ER working 50 hours a week. Prior to his current position, Dr. Alfred Neuhoff focused on family medicine, functioning as a Family Physician at various Wisconsin hospitals, including North Twin Medical Center and Ministry Medical Group, where he received a Circle of Excellence Award in 2009 for his treatment of patients with narcotic addictions. Born in Burlington, Iowa, Dr. Neuhoff studied at the University of Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in General Science in 1984. Dr. Alfred Neuhoff stayed at the University and enrolled in the Carver College of Medicine. While studying medicine, Dr. Neuhoff undertook a pathology externship, allowing him to developing a deeper understanding of the study and diagnosis of disease. After earning his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Alfred Neuhoff traveled to Wausau, Wisconsin, where he began a family practice residency. Upon completion of the residency, Dr. Neuhoff became certified in family practice. Recertifying in both 1998 and 2005, Dr. Alfred Neuhoff scored in the top 1 percentile nationwide. Dr. Neuhoff also receives high marks in patient satisfaction surveys, in which he ranks over 90 percent consistently. Dr. Alfred Neuhoff maintains memberships with both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Wisconsin Medical Society, benefitting from current news about the medical field. Dr. Neuhoff also serves as a consultant and speaker for several pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer Inc., AstraZeneca, Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Abbott Labs. He also has received training in Advanced Trauma Life Support, which instructs medical professionals to treat the greatest threat first, and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
