- Brooklyn NY
As owner of Alkor Capital in Brooklyn, New York, Alex Korchmar leads a company that has operated business ventures in real estate development, construction, and new automobile sales. He oversees financial management and budget planning for all of Alkor’s engagements and ensures that all projects proceed in adherence with regional licensing laws and contractual restrictions. Along with directing a staff of more than 100 employees, Alex Korchmar handles such day-to-day functions as negotiating property contracts and hiring contractors.
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Alex Korchmar used Alkor Capital’s resources to coordinate the full restoration of Young Israel of Brighton Beach, which allowed the heavily damaged Brooklyn synagogue to remain in the community and avoid relocation to new premises. Mr. Korchmar facilitated all phases of the renovation, from developing the purchasing plan to securing workers to carry out construction.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Alex Korchmar enjoys going to the movie theater, seeing shows on Broadway, and reading novels from author James Patterson’s Alex Cross series. Also a tennis aficionado, he plays the game nearly every week and follows the career of professional tennis player Roger Federer. He has attended the US Open on multiple occasions and appreciates the opportunity to watch top-tier professional players from all over the world.
