I came to a point where I wanted to gain more experience in prehospital trauma life support, and because south africa is one of the contries that has most traumas, I travelled to South africa, cape town to volunteer as a paramedic/nurse at the first responder car. I was in Cape town for six weeks and volunteered for several private EMS companies, but I spend most of my time with the Metro government Medical Emergency Transport and Rescue team.  

As a nurse in the ambulance, I deal with a range of situations, from minor wounds to serious injuries caused by a major road or rail accident. My job is to provide immediate care or treatment in any circumstances.

When responding to a call, I have to check patient's condition and decide what action to take from there, such as:

• making quick decisions about moving the patient
• using advanced life support techniques, such as electric shocks, to resuscitate patients
• carrying out surgical procedures, such as inserting a breathing tube
• providing drug and fluid therapy
• giving medicines and injections
• putting on dressings for wounds and supports for broken bones.
• leading the trauma care on scene on minor and major accidents/situations

Emergency rooms are often the first line of defense for accidents, allergic reactions, and any number of urgent medical care. As a ER nurse my task was to assist doctors and work with emergency medical technicians in helping people in pain and possibly life-threatening trauma. I also needed to quickly assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on its critical nature, and work to stabilize a patient, treat the problem, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.

I have been working for a staffing company in Norway at a psychiatric ward for patients who are suicidal and with patients that have grave psychosis. My roll was to conversate with the patients, administer medicine and observate the patients.

After graduating from college as a aircraft mechanic I started to work for a pharmaceutical company as a industrial machine mechanic .

My job was to disassemble and assemble pharmaceutical machines and to supervise that the machines where function properly when they where in use.
