About Alexander Salerno

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Alexander Salerno has nearly 15 years of experience serving the urban communities of New Jersey. He obtained his doctor of medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and completed his residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center before joining Salerno Medical Associates, LLP, a medical practice his parents founded nearly 40 years ago. In his role as lead physician and internist, Dr. Alexander Salerno provides quality care to seniors and adults, especially those in low-income neighborhoods. Concurrently, he serves as an adjunct professor at the New York University College of Nursing.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alexander Salerno has received several professional accolades, including the Francis Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare and the Civil Service Leader Award, and Physician of the Year at St. Michael’s Hospital. In addition, the New Jersey Star Ledger recently recognized his practice as a provider of high-quality patient care.

Dr. Alexander Salerno spends his free time traveling, playing piano, and following the Pittsburgh Steelers. A community-minded individual, he has worked with his local Baptist church to establish a scholarship fund that helps a male and female student each year pay for higher education. He also contributes to area animal leagues.
