New Jersey college student Alexa Lewris continues a personal tradition of academic excellence. As a student at PalisadesParkHigh School, Lewris maintained a grade point average of 3.92, and ranked seventh out of 102 students at the time of her graduation in 2009. Now, as a student at FairleighDickinsonUniversity, she maintains a 3.93 grade point average and was named to the honors list for the fall 2011 semester. She anticipates a May 2013 graduation date, and is a psychology major with a minor in criminal justice. Lewris is a member of Phi Zeta Kappa honor society and the Psi Chi International Honor Society, and her membership in the National Society of Leadership and Success is pending. Outside of her academic studies, Alexa Lewris found it important to set time aside for volunteering during her high school years. At EnglewoodHospital and MedicalCenter in Englewood, New Jersey, Lewris assisted with discharge and transport of patients, and transported files, samples and prescriptions. She also volunteered at Palisades Park Public Library for nearly a year, where she catalogued and discarded library materials, created posters and fliers, and assisted with arts and crafts projects. Prior to entering college, Lewris spent the summer working as a camp counselor at the Summer Recreation Day Camp in PalisadesPark. In this capacity, she assisted children with sports and other activities. Alexa Lewris enjoys writing, and had work published in METRO, a collection of student essays published by FarleighDickinsonUniversity. In her free time, she enjoys reading, music, and exercising.
