Alex Lee is IT expert with a long involvement with Friends of the Earth and other campaigning organisations. He has been the senior developer for disruptive and cutting-edge web service at a large university, and now works freelance, focusing particularly on Drupal projects. Alex redesigned the FoEE process for sending e-newsletters to members in 2013. He worked on understanding their businesses processes to find the best way to reduce the time that FoEE took to build content, then created a system using the Drupal CMS to achieve this. Since then he has provided ongoing Drupal support, advice and development for their complex site.

Alex volunteered with a charity that works with homeless children in Uganda. He ran training sessions with staff, teaching them skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Wordpress, and CiviCRM, advised and implemented permaculture solutions for their environmental projects, and set up a database system for records.

This included creating a "one stop shop" for all students' digital learning materials, a web portal that integrated disparate services, and completely transformed an unpopular complex calendar system into a user friendly jQuery calendar that pulled in assignment and exam data.
