Project Manager (Independent Consultant)

  • Led and managed a business process and technology feasibility project phase for one of the Fortune 500 Global IT distributors based in the United States successfully. The Business Planning and consolidation reengineering project was approved by the CIO and VP of Finance. They congratulated the team formed of 12 core team members and 6 consultants for delivering a clear roadmap (process, timeline, resources and cost) for the execution of the project.
2003 - 2014

Sr. SAP Business Analyst through Interim PMO Director

KARL STORZ North America, El Segundo, CA
  • Served as interim PMO Director responsible of redesigning, implementing and operating the Americas and European IT project portfolio. This saved the company approximately a quarter of a million dollars on a senior management salary.
  • Saved the IT organization about quarter of a million dollars putting in place the foundational IT project portfolio and project management processes in record time. This allowed the IT senior management team to make strategic decisions. The CIO was very satisfied with the results.
  • Developed the IT Project Portfolio reporting system providing the IT Management team full visibility of the entire IT project portfolio. This reduced by 90% the time the managers were spending understanding and evaluating the impact of the projects in the portfolio.
  • Supervised and coached all the resources of the IT organization responsible of the execution and delivery of projects. This allowed a rapid transition and adoption of the new methodology, and better partnership with the business partners (end users).
  • Led executive (IT, HR, Finance) and consulting team in the development of the SAP Human Capital business case. The North America Executive team was pleased with the implementation strategy and ROI, and approved the business case.
  • Managed the implementation of the SAP HCM Modules: Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, Performance Management and Compensation for the entire North America region. This implementation allowed to reduce the system maintenance cost and elimination of the old system.
  • Spearheaded the business process and SAP system implementation of a new manufacturing company responsible to produce operating room equipment to be used in hospital for minimal invasive surgeries. The success of this implementation reduced the operation cost, streamlined the sales and manufacturing business processes and increased customer satisfaction reducing the sales cycle from 15 days to 5 days.
  • Headed a full implementation of the network, telecommunications, business processes and SAP system in the Karl Storz Mexico Office. This project was delivered on time, on budget and on scope. The success of this project allowed to incorporate the Mexico Office into the North America Enterprise Resource Planning system and increased the revenue and profit of the office.
1999 - 2002

Principal SAP Analyst

Callaway Golf, Carlsbad, CA
  • Spearheaded the business process and information system decentralization of the custom golf clubs assembling operation. The new assembling operation was implemented in the Japan, UK, and Canada subsidiaries reducing the order fulfillment cycle for the respective markets from 15 - 21 days to 3 – 5 days. The new operation was implemented on time, on budget and on scope in the three subsidiaries.
  • Supervised a delicate currency system conversion for the European customer base. The goal of this conversion was to convert all the sales and billing transactions from their local currencies to the new euro. The conversion went smooth and did not have any down time. This amplified the confidence of the customers and influenced the growth of the sales revenue.    
  • Directed the first e-commerce initiative –B2C- in the company. This implementation consolidated the presence of the company in the market providing the customers with a 24X7 on-line system to capture and monitor their own orders.
  • Coordinated the sales and distribution portion of the worldwide SAP upgrade from Release 3.0D to Release 4.5B. The upgrade allowed the company to save money in the maintenance of the system and positioned the company for future technological development (e.g. e-commerce, supply chain, etc).
  • Integrated Japan subsidiary operation into the Corporate Enterprise Resource Planning System – SAP, improving operational capabilities, allowing full visibility of the day to day operation and health of the subsidiary. Headquarter was very pleased with the results of the project.
  • Led international and local cross functional teams of 3 to 25 people to implement new order fulfilment operations, business process improvements and SAP system initiatives resulting in cost effective operations, revenue growth and increase in operational performance.
