Corus Kingswinford

2001 to present 

  • Designed, implemented and maintained safe systems of work in order to achieve and maintain both ISO9001:2000 and DNV accreditations.
  • Designed inspection reports, pre-use checklists, risk assessments, safe working procedures and competency checklists for works employees.
  • Investigation of accidents and high potential incidents.
  • Perform internal audits on operating systems and investigate non conforming material by introducing corrective actions. 


Corus Automotive Wednesfield

1993 - 2001

  • Placed orders and negotiated with suppliers to meet customer’s scheduled requirements.
  • Liaised with suppliers and customers to ensure new raw material specifications are feasible and to specified tolerances.
  • Ensured QS9000 purchasing quality procedures were maintained and making recommendations for improvements. 


British Steel Distribution - Automotive

1989 - 1993

  • With a team of 3 planners, planned production in liaison with transport to meet customer requirements.
  • Arranged and scheduled planned maintenance work to minimise production downtime.
  • Planned 6 major production lines, with a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum.
  • Authorised overtime with works personnel as appropriate. 


British Steel Distribution - Automotive

1982 - 1989

  • Managed the transition from a paper based stock records system to a fully integrated computerised system, including shop floor data collection.
  • Negotiated credit notes and issued debit notes on suppliers in order to resolve disputes.
  • Monitored variance reports, and investigated / resolved errors accordingly.
  • Controlled depot’s stock, valued at £72m. 


British Steel Distribution - Automotive

1975 - 1982 

  • Responsible for servicing existing customer base and maintaining good customer relationships.
  • Developed new accounts by a combination of telephone calls and customer visits.
  • Discussed prices with customers to maintain profitable levels of business, while maintaining agreed levels of volume.
