IT Project Mgmt. Office (Feb 2008 – November 2008)
·Current priority is as a core team member for the implementation of project portfolio management software for the Danaher Test and Measurement platform of five operating companies. First usage of software as a service.
·Led IT Security Committee meetings and discussions.
·Coordinated competition and selection of IT standards for five company group for: x86 servers; SAN storage; UNIX operating system; and mobile devices.
·Project leader focusing on mobility, collaboration and unified communications projects in addition to developing technology strategies and policies focused on these areas and on a wider range of Microsoft capabilities.
·SharePoint (MOSS) project leader for multi-company implementation.
·Ongoing participation in Microsoft customer advisory council activities for both Office Communications Server and information worker mobility.
Sr. Mgr., Technology Planning (Oct 2007 – Feb 2008)
·Sr. Manager for Technology Planning within the Global IT infrastructure group for Tektronix (now a part of Danaher Corporation). My role is to help manage IT infrastructure projects as well as promote the usage of technology throughout the company. An example of this is working with Microsoft's Office Communication Server 2007 to extend its usage more broadly within our company.
·Additional responsibilities related to coordination and communications between employees and IT within Tektronix and our new parent company. Established internal web site and content documenting expected IT changes as a result of acquisition.
Sr. Mgr., Enterprise Server Team (Jan 2005 – Oct 2007)
·Managed two teams totaling 12 people including budgeting, evaluations, and goal setting. These global teams were responsible for infrastructure management and architecture planning in the areas of Windows, UNIX, Linux servers, VMware, and SAN storage in addition to Microsoft Exchange email, directory, spam/virus scanning, and mobile devices.
·Directly involved in company acquisitions and divestitures as well as international coordination with Japan, rest of Asia/Pacific, as well as Europe.
·Project manager for Tektronix participation in Microsoft TAP (beta) program for Office Communications Server 2007. Coordinated Tektronix and Microsoft resources during 9 month period. Responsible for managing and meeting tight project milestones as well as communications with many Microsoft product managers during the beta testing period and with Microsoft and Tektronix PR staff during development of final customer case study (link).
·Led supplier-supported (HP) study of virtualization opportunities at Tektronix to support transition to a highly virtualized Windows server environment using VMware. This study used the AOG capacity planner technology to collect information about the current physical Windows Server environment and then predict the cost benefit of virtualization.
LAN Operations Manager(1997 - 2005)
·Managed all aspects of teams that support corporate server infrastructure including Windows, Active Directory, and Exchange server. Responsible for planning and implementation of global transition from Banyan-based networking infrastructure to Microsoft environment.
LAN Systems Admin (1993 – 1997)
·Individual contributor for global implementation of Banyan network systems infrastructure.
