  • Main remit is to educate content marketing team on 'traditional' PR practices in order to improve news-worthiness of content marketing campaigns and to increase digital coverage through media relations. 
  • Clients include JW Lees, Airport City and Optionis Group.

Account Director (promoted from Senior Account Manager) 

Senior role within regional arm of Good Relations - a leading PR and communications consultancy with its head quarters in London.

  • Led flagship consumer accounts including The National Lottery, B&Q, Thwaites Brewery, Portmeirion Pottery and Subway.
  • Managed busy B&Q press office for the North of England,  fielding queries from the media as well as identifying stories which would generate positive regional press for the chain's 360 stores. 
  • Was the main contact for the promotion of B&Q's 2014 corporate partnership with BBC's Children in Need working on local regeneration stories, which would garner positive media exposure. Generated press coverage of B&Q's Children in Need activity across 20 stores in the North and established a partnership between B&Q staff members in Penrith and a local Leonard Cheshire project, funded by Children in Need.
  • Represented B&Q during 2015 General Election campaign when Ed Miliband visited both Great Yarmouth and Worksop stores. I liaised heavily with the Labour Party's PR team to ensure successful visits for all stakeholders. 
  • Managed The National Lottery's 20th birthday campaign (October 2014) across Yorkshire and the North East, from campaign conception to execution. Generated blanket positive press coverage in both regions including all regional news programmes. 
  • Managed the Thwaites Lancaster Bomber Tour 2014 and established partnership with the Mail on Sunday which resulted in a double page spread at launch and further sustained coverage throughout the tour's six-week duration.
  • Launched Portmeirion's first tableware collaboration with Ted Baker at a high-profile press event at Sketch, London and secured attendance from over 35 lifestyle and interiors journalists including Woman & Home, Good Housekeeping, Men's Fitness, Press Association, Sunday Express and Daily Mirror.

  • Worked with a variety of B2C and B2B clients including Sweet 'N Low, Island Cuisine, Citybranch, Castlerock Recruitment Group, Digital Next, i-stay, Health Shield and Fletcher Rae to deliver coverage in a range of print, broadcast and digital media channels.
  • Formulated strategic PR plans to ensure the delivery of successful campaigns including the launch of Altrincham Hospital in conjunction with NHS Trafford and the consumer launch of Island Cuisine cooking sauces which took place at IPC Media and was attended by an impressive array of lifestyle journalists, even achieving coverage in lads bible Nuts.
  • Oversaw busy press office, handling journalist enquiries at both a national and regional level, briefing clients on media response.

  • Large focus on raising profile of Chairman – achieved excellent and sustained coverage in Yorkshire Post, Business Insider, Business Desk, Sunday Times, Financial Times.
  • Managed all internal communications including the commissioning of the monthly staff newsletter “My LNT” which was distributed to over 1,000 employees.
  • Managed all care home openings and secured celebrities such as Ricky Hatton, Anthea Turner, Bill Tarmey (Coronation Street) and Alan Halsall (Coronation Street).

March-September 2012: Volunteer Regional Coordinator at Help For Heroes 

  • Liaised with the central fundraising team, fielding enquiries from members of the public, advising on event protocol and how to promote events locally, issued branded collateral such as banners and collection tins.

March-April 2012: Media Relations Coordinator for Epic Run 

  • Handled media relations for Sam Boatwright's 'Epic Run' whereby he ran 50 miles a day for 50 days.
  • Drafted and sold-in press releases and media updates at a national and regional level.
  • Press coverage was achieved in the Daily Mail and GM:TV. I wrote a diary for the Craven Herald (Skipton's local paper) on behalf of Sam, which was featured on the front page. Sam raised over £20,000 for Help For Heroes.
