Environmentalist and entrepreneur Ahmed Elgheur is currently the head of Elger Energies Systeme, a renewable energy venture. Ahmed Elgheur’s firm, which is headquartered in New York, provides solar and wind energy installations to a variety of customers including residential and commercial clients. He oversees all aspects of his business, from negotiating lease agreements to closing purchase agreements. Elgheur and his company serve a number of patrons in the United States, and, as he continues to expand his business, he also works with firms and households internationally in Spain and Morocco. He provides consultations in countries throughout the Middle East, contributing his knowledge in the fields of solar and wind energy. Elgheur’s group currently maintains an office in Frankfurt, Germany, and is currently at work on establishing another in Tangier, Morocco. Committed to the cause of developing alternate sources of energy, Ahmed Elgheur is continuing his education through Columbia University and The City University of New York. By engaging in the study of photovoltaic applications, integrated systems, and electrical structural engineering, he is able to connect with other professionals to explore the current trends and opportunities in the industry. Formerly a cab driver in New York City, Elgheur’s interest in the environment was triggered unexpectedly during a conversation with one of his passengers who was involved in solar energy ventures. Elgheur’s interest in the field of energy led him to a year-long apprenticeship through which he acquired the skills to establish his own firm. When he is not at work, Ahmed Elgheur may be found pursuing activities such as scuba diving and sailing.
