Ahmed Abdel-Latif is currently serving as Group Vice President, International Carrier Services at Etisalat Group, a large emerging markets Telecoms (fixed & mobile) Services group with operations in 18 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In his current capacity, he leads a team of Senior Executives with direct responsibility for the commercial integration of the portfolio of operators across the group’s footprint; spanning the functions of International Business Planning, International Revenue Forecasting & Maximization, International Cost Management, Wholesale Business Development, and Commercial Negotiations with global service providers.
An accomplished Sales leader, he is one of the most experienced, well-connected, and capable business-to-business Telecoms, Internet, and Technology executives in the EMEA region and brings with him a wealth of knowledge, unparalleled leadership skills, and an impressive educational background.
Earlier in his career Ahmed led geographically diversified sales & business development teams for such global Telecoms operators as MCI, WorldCom, Verizon Business, and FLAG Telecom (part of Reliance Group); where he focused on selling a complex set of Telecoms products & services to the MEA’s regions most prominent mobile operators, International Services Providers, Call Centers, ISPs, and Multinationals across may vertical industries. Through his career, Ahmed has worked for US, European/Asian, and Middle Eastern organizations with MENA/MEA mandates.
Ahmed has been involved with the telecommunications industry for the last 15 years, and has spent nearly 3 years in his current position. A bi-lingual (native Arabic speaker) Egyptian national, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications & Electronics Engineering from Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt), a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Louisville (KY, USA), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (with Distinction) from The Maastricht School of Management (Maastricht, The Netherlands); with a focus on Globalization.
Outside of his professional activities; he is an acknowledged trainer & executive development facilitator on several management topics including Strategy & Strategic Development, Market Entry Planning, Business Development, and Sales Techniques.
