Maintenance and new connections of most of the Corporate, Business, VIP and SLA customers at Colombo Metropolitan area are handled by this unit. The OPMC serves more than 160,000 PSTN & CDMA customers including about 27000 ADSL, IPTV and 2450 Data. OPMC Narahenpita is the first and the largest Maintenance Centre in Sri Lanka Telecom which is an ISO 9001:2000 QMS certified special services model unit like '5S',Kaizen, QC and other productivity improvement tools and high quality service standards are maintained.
¨ Managing the entire activities of OSP Maintenance and Operations including Planning & Analyzing, New Connection, Optical, metallic Cable Development & Maintenance, Fault & Rehabilitation and Administration.
¨ Ensuring uninterrupted services to VVIP, corporate, business and residential customers and meet the committed restoration service levels to SLA customers deploying 24×7 maintenance teams at Colombo metro area.
¨ Provisioning PSTN, CDMA, DATA, ADSL and IPTV services with minimum service delivery time.
¨ Ensuring conformity of telecommunication services with specifications, plans and with laws, regulations & safety standards.
¨ Preparing of feasibility reports for development of network to meet the customer demand.
¨ Outsourcing necessary jobs and ensure the conformity to minimum nominated standards and specifications.
¨ Guiding in Preparation of annual operational budget of the OPMC.
¨ Serving as Team Member of IPTV and work force management using PDAs island wide implementation projects.
¨ Supervising and directing 275 Nos. of professional, technical, clerical and other staff.
¨ Carrying out performance evaluations of the staff and submit proposals for their training & development.
¨ Developed a competency gap identifying criteria and development plan for technical assistants to uplift their performances.
¨ Introducing and implementing quality standards and improvement tools (i.e. ISO 9001:2000, "5S" concept, Kaizen, QC circles etc.)
¨ Conducted an ISO 9001:2000 QMS awareness sessions for selected operational managers and their staff.
