Amanda Ellis graduated summa cum laude from Centenary College of Louisiana in May 1998 where she received her BS in Business and minor in Biology. As an undergraduate student, Amanda served as Editor of the Yoncopin, the college yearbook; President of her sorority, Chi Omega; and Secretary of the Student Government Association. Amanda received her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in May 2001. During law school, Amanda held leadership positions on the Student Bar Association and served as Editor of the Peregrinus, the law school yearbook. She was also on the staff member of the Texas Journal of Business Law. Upon graduation from law school, Amanda moved to Massachusetts where she began her legal career with one of the oldest law firms in New England. Amanda practiced in the firm’s Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy Section. Amanda returned to Texas in February 2005 and joined a bankruptcy boutique firm where she represented mid-sized businesses in corporate restructurings. Amanda joined Special Counsel, Inc, a national legal search firm, in April 2006 as an Attorney Search Director and devoted her practice to attorney direct hire placements in the Dallas market. Amanda was the top performing recruiter throughout the company for attorney placements in 2007. In July 2008, Amanda decided to combine her bankruptcy and recruiting experience to form Amanda Ellis Legal Search, a legal search firm focused on placing bankruptcy/restructuring attorneys in law firms throughout the United States. In addition to being involved in numerous bar associations, Amanda also serves as the Co-Chair of the DFW Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and Networking Chair of the DFW Area Centenary College Alumni Association.
