Use of Microsoft Office Programmes

Commencing the use of this skill in my educational studies I soon had to develop them to new levels to meet the requirement for my work in the NHS. With proficiency in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook I developed (and continue to develop) these skills greatly in my current employment.  Excel is the MS programme I use mostly, with experience in formatting and formulas I enhanced the spreadsheets in use by the team i was planted into for greater results and ease. My current role includes managing the arranging of meetings (including locations, resources and attendees) for the whole team, leading me to develop great skills in Outlook under the calendar, contacts, mail and tasks functions.

Medical Typing

Skill in typing for Consultant and staff grade doctors in Ophthalmology for the UK NHS. Typing clinic letters and correspondence from audio recording on a daily basis for doctors, improving their grammar and punctuation as the correspondence progressed. Understanding of shortened terminology/jargon and basic tests relating to Ophthalmology. Quickly gained proficiency within a space of a month at typing correspondence without having to be reviewed by colleagues before being passed onto the doctor for signing.

Keen reader of literature (media articles, novels autobiographies) with special interest in Classic Literature varying from Danté to Huxley to Shelley. Also, a new-found interest in motivational and people leading instruction books.

Enjoy socialising and networking with individuals from a range of age groups and backgrounds. I also enjoy good food and good quality restaurants.
