BET Networks

I interned at BET Networks in the Digital Music and Celebrity content division.  This internship gave me valuable music industry and mass media experience and skills.  I was able to meet numerous celebrities, potential music stars, and interact with many professionals on a regular basis. I also assisted in the product development process with the staff and attended many company sponsored industry events.

  • As a writer I wrote articles for showcasing the company's Music Matters campaign.  This program is managed under the president of BET, Stephan Hill, for the music department at BET which promotes new musical talent.  I also wrote an album review for Nicki Minaj's new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and transcribed recorded interviews. Through this I also learned how to be an artist promoter and talent scout as I would report to my bosses the best artists that I saw and heard for their campaigns.  Developing my skills as an A&R for a major company.  I also searched for unsigned artists on YouTube performing covers which is set to be a talent contest, much like American Idol or The Voice, and be broadcasted on BET's 106 and Park this summer.

  • I used social media sites and blogs to gain knowledge and develop on celebrity content for

  • Working in professional office I made copies, worked with staff time sheets, maintained a calendar with events that required my boss's attendance, and received/directed visitors/clients involved in various business campaigns.
