At The Engine Room, I did everything from press conferences and news releases to social media campaigns and big block parties. Our clients included a group of locally owned businesses in Downtown Tulsa as well as a few others who like our style. I made decisions regarding advertising and promotions, and I also arranged entertainment for our bar and restaurant clients. It was a fast-paced, busy gig, and I loved contributing to the revitalization of my city.

Campaigns

CAREER

  • Helped develop, organize, and execute a city-wide initiative encouraging Tulsans to buy locally. On a zero budget, my small team of two put together a large holiday party with more than 250 attendees and helped spread awareness to a mass of Tulsans via a press conference, individual television interviews, radio and publication sponsorships, viral videos, social media, cross promotion, and word of mouth.
  • Planned and launched a series of pre-opening competitions for a new restaurant with more than 500 overall attendees and 40 registered competitors, creating widespread awareness and a positive image of the new facility.  
  • Utilized social media incentives and tools with local influencials to help promote a block party and grow the Facebook page of a local salon by more than 47 percent, with a significant increase in page views, and a 700% increase in active users.
  • Helped develop, organize and execute direct mailing awareness campaign for an ovarian cancer nonprofit, and organized an awareness survey for measurement purposes. 
  • Created a social media, viral video plan for a local film making the international festival circuit to gain social media followers and promote the showings at each event. 
  • Helped conceptualize and execute a viral video competition for the city's transit system, aimed to improve perception of public transportation.

COLLEGE

  • Successfully took over international PR Web site for one week as part of a strategy team for OSU's social media class. Our class significantly increased hits to the site 75%, and also increased average time spent on the site.
  • Helped create and organize a social networking site ("Socially Orange") for the Journalism and Broadcasting students at OSU as part of OSU's social media class.
