Resilience by Design University (RBD_U) Amman

Rebuild by Design, 100 Resilient Cities, PennDesign, & Columbia University GSAPP

In collaboration with Amman Design Week, join international designers, academics, and city officials to learn together and workshop some of the region's most pressing urban challenges at Resilience by Design University (RBD_U).

Friday, October 13th: Symposium on City Challenges and Opportunities

Participants will learn about urban resilience theory, honing in on the topics of Waste, Water, and Transportation. Amman's Chief Resilience Officer will also present on the city's newly released Urban Resilience Strategy, and highlight some of the exciting work they have planned.

Saturday, October 14th: Design Prototyping Workshop

Students will be presented current design challenges from the resilience offices of the cities of Amman, Ramallah, and Byblos. Under the guidance of practitioners and academics, students will work together to prototype design interventions for complex urban issues relating to Water, Waste, and Transportation in these cities.

RBD_U is a collaboration of Rebuild by Design, 100 Resilient Cities, PennDesign, and Columbia University GSAPP.
