 Aaron Rasch has accrued twelve years of experience in the clinical research industry after receiving degrees in biology and chemistry. Aaron is a natural entrepreneur who has founded three startups and launched 7 commercial software products. His first two companies were established in mainland China during a ten year stint living and working in Asia.  A passionate presenter, he brings years of in-the-trenches knowledge of customer pain points together with a big picture understanding of how to drive a successful business. He has a broad and unique skill set covering GxP regulatory affairs, product management, agile software development, UI design, business development, and possesses an ability to identify nascent opportunities for modern technology in the pharmaceutical and clinical spaces.



Track record of building successful businesses from the ground up. Able to identify, attract, and manage core teams as well as develop scaling strategy, product roadmaps, pivoting strategies, competitive analysis, market surveillance, etc. Extensive experience with business planning and "pitching" products and services, interacting with financial entities, contracting and negotiations, vendor management, and sweeping the floor because there just isn't anyone else to do it yet.

Strong background in FDA and HHS regulatory requirements including GxP, 21CFR11, HIPAA, GAMP 5, CLIA, etc.  Ability to assess technology platforms and frameworks for compliance issues and design the integration of compliance and RA related features directly into software products. Experienced at developing, writing, and reviewing SDLC documentation,  operational SOPs, work instructions, regulatory master files, etc. 

Startup Portfolio

  • Aaron's first business was a language training institute in mainland China. This business grew to be the largest private Mandarin school in the region, and was successfully acquired by a Chinese conglomerate. The company was sold with a return on investment of 5000% after four years of growth.
  • The second company leveraged a network of pharmaceutical and government contacts to create a collection of Asian oncology centers and an associated data product. This company was acquired after two years, and Aaron then returned to the United States and established a software division within the acquiring company.
  • During his two years stateside he conceived of and brought to market 4 clinical data software products before taking a buyout and co-founding Masai Tech.
  • Under Aaron’s leadership Masai Tech has brought three enterprise software products to market including a data aggregation and analytics platform, a clinical and operational data monitoring/signal detection SaaS product, and a customizable business process automation product. Masai Tech is currently cash positive less than 2 years after beta launch of its first product.

As co-founder and CEO of Masai Tech, Aaron is responsible for driving aggressive growth in the eClinical, mHealth, and Health Integration markets through effective leadership, strong technical and management skills, and passion for using technology to improve human health. Aaron guides task and product specific teams in software development, dev-ops, clinical operations, project management, sales and marketing, IP strategy, financing, etc.


Vice President of Technology      

Summit Analytical, LLC

Returned to the United States in January 2013 to lead the new division of product development, focusing on the development of a completely novel Electronic Data Capture software platform. Conceptualized and designed Summit’s in-house EDC platform, TiS. Build and maintain product development team of 16-20 programmers, mobile app developers, and QC staff. Implement Agile development methodologies department wide. Lead the product sales and business development initiatives. Act as liaison between product development and other departments. Active participant in upper management meetings and decisions.


Founder, Vice President of Asian Operations

SinoClin/Summit Analytical, LLC

Founded a wholly foriegn-owned Chinese entity, SinoClin LTd.,  a provider of clinical trial services across mainland China focusing on site management. In addition to managing operations related to our extensive training programs, SFDA submissions, monitoring, and China project management services I am responsible for coordinating foreign-sponsored clinical trial activity in our rapidly growing network of contracted clinical sites. Our activities span critical clinical trial functions at the sites and ensure both ICH and SFDA GCP compliance. Following an acquisition, I was also responsible for the design and implementation of company-wide IT systems and network administration. As Vice President of Asian Operations I reported directly to the President and CEO.


China Projects Manager

Medical Quality International, LLC

As the senior China projects manager I oversaw several areas of operations and business development for a drug development and manufacturing consulting company headquartered in the United States. Our primary contracts were in GMP and GLP compliance auditing for large-scale API manufacturers in mainland China. My responsibilities included participating in GxP audits, writing audit reports, liaising with Chinese counterparts, performing due diligence on potential drug-development partners, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Reported to CEO and participated in high-level meetings with investors and board members.


Program Director, Founder            

Konall Culture Exchange, Ltd.

As director and co-founder of a training institute in Hebei Province, China I was responsible for all business development, recruitment, and foreign relations of a large private training school with an average of 400 students per year. We specialized in designing custom training programs for western professionals looking to enter the Chinese job market and for Chinese professionals seeking to increase their knowledge of international standards and practices. My responsibilities included direction and oversight of the design and implementation of courses including GxP training, Chinese as a foreign language, Business Skills, and medical language training. I was also responsible for the company IT systems design and development including the student portal content management system, internal file sharing, email servers, etc. Initiated and led a 9 month product development initiative to develop an online language lesson content engine marketed to cyber high schools in the United States. While I sold my majority stake in Konall in 2009 I remain a member of the advisory board.
