GB-Data NI Ltd, a data installations and electrical contractors who specialise in Structured Cabling, Telephone Systems, Network Switches, Wireless and IP Integration services along with complete rewires of commercial and industrial projects, From tender stages through to testing and commissioning. Responsibilities & Projects are outlined below:

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Key role in directing the team to develop the test & commissioning procedures.
  • Network with main contractors and establish means for growth.
  • Manage & supervise the commissioning of various systems including MV Electrical Systems, Fire Safety Systems, Lighting & Power and Fiber Optic & Com Systems.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders including the Project Manager, Engineering Managers, and the Construction Team to provide subject-matter expert advice and leadership.
  • Responsible for managing and delivering the means and methods of the commissioning execution strategy schedule and cost.
  • Lead & direct all commissioning activity for projects including the lead staff position responsible for and directing all commissioning activities at the site.
  • Ensured best practices by developing and implementing turnover, pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and maintenance processes and systems considering and including: contractual requirements, project and construction schedule, reliability, maintenance, materials management and change management.
  • Established system boundaries, scopes of work, and turnover / commissioning execution plans.
  • Communicate the turnover / commissioning and scope for members of design and construction teams.
  • Involvement & participation in vendor supplier, and/or subcontractor meetings to resolve issues.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.

BELB (Belfast Education & Library Board) Electrical Site Manager

  • Installation of Power, Lighting, Fire Detection, Door Access, Boiler house.
  • Organising labour & materials.
  • Liaising with other  trades to ensure projects went according to program.
  • Deferred  Works schedule, costings and management. Fixed wire testing & completion of punch list items.
  • Emergency lighting install, replacement, bi-annual testing & updating emergency lighting log books.
  • Oversee commissioning on all systems installed, i.e Fire Alarm, CCTV, Boiler Houses BMS panels (Building Management Supply)
  • Pre-Commission testing fire alarm systems & CCTV.

  • Providing instruction & information of duties to sub contractors on safe working policies expectations & care  of duty.
  • The above  installation included Cable tray/Cable basket/ Galvanized conduit/Galvanized trunking for the cable management system.
  • Ensuring the install was carried out to the relevant specification, ie bending radius of cables, sharp or protruding ends, bracket (supports)
  • Coordinated testing of above  cabling, ie Omniscanner (data  cabling)
  • Fusion splicing of fibre & testing, DB loss to be recorded @ each splice.
  • Tool box talks.
  • RAMS = Risk assessments & method statements.

  • Coordinating  labour
  • Establish and evaluating daily installation and cable route schedules.
  • Fabricating & installing brackets, Ladder rack, Galvanized tray.

  • Manage project costings and ensure job is complete within budget.
