Co-Founder of the Oakdale Simmental Cattle Stud, established in 1997

  • Managed the 50 acre beef and sheep farm from January 1997 to September 2016
  • Purchased a larger second 535 acre beef and sheep farm (located near Kaikohe) in December 2001 which I co-operated/managed from January 2008 to April 2013

In 2008, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) partially designated the Warkworth property for the proposed motorway extension from Puhoi to Warkworth.

In 2013, NZTA applied to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for approval of the building project.

Personal achievements:

  • Conducted extensive research on the project and wrote a submission to the EPA in November 2013
  • Submitted the opening and closing submissions during the EPA's Board of Inquiry Hearing 
  • Participated in the EPA's inquiry process and cross examined four of NZTA's independent expert witnesses
