I've loved fashion my entire life. My strengths are in design and fashion show production. Those two things make me happy. I'm a hard-worker, I'm dedicated, determined, and creative. I stay loyal to what I love, and there is no Plan B for me. I want to be in this industry. My first collection, "Grass Roots" is my greatest accomplishment. I got to reflect my personal style by featuring it on the runway. My next collection is in progress...

I enjoy photography also. I think there is always something to be seen and saved.

I love old things. Modern things are so cold. I need things that have lived.

Model Coordination
I've worked with many models as a fashion design major. I've fitted them, photographed them, assigned them to designers, worked them into the line-up, auditioned/casted them, dressed them, and taught some of them how to walk. I've spent much time with them during fashion shows and photo shoots. They're like an easel in a way... Something that you can display art on and position to be viewed as beautiful. They're quite cooperative I've learned. Unfortunately, that has been mistaken for "dumb"... Coming from experience, they're really not. They're simply cooperative.
Fashion Show Production
I have found that this particular field is my niche and pure joy. I get such a rush on the chaos of fashion shows. Yes, it has caused me unbearable stress, sleep deprivation, and nausea, but I still love it. During my time in school, I worked many fashion shows. I was the Backstage Manager and Model Caster/Coordinator two years in a row for the APDM yearly Spring fashion show. I absolutely love everything about this area. I love directing backstage, talking on a headset, directing the models and dressers, organizing the garments, stacking the models, and just being mixed in the mess backstage while everything appears perfect and rehearsed in the front.
I have never taken a photography class. I can't give you the definition of "white balance" or "aperature" or whatever. I have a Nikon D100 and I don't know what 75% of the settings mean. But I have a natural eye for beauty. I photograph because I want people to see how I see things through my lens. It's a new hobby but I've learned to love it. I bring my camera everywhere. There is always something to be seen and saved.
Garment Construction
I learned to sew when I was in high school. I continued my skills at the University of Hawaii's Apparel Product Design & Merchandising program by gradually completing advanced construction courses. I've sewn many garments... It's time consuming and it takes A LOT of patience, but I wanted to be good at it. You have to be if you are an aspiring designer.
