July 2015

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I graduated from Nelson Aviation College in 2014 and was awarded 'Best All-round Academic Performance’. This demonstrates my professionalism and commitment to strive for excellence. Also I was asked to be a student representative for company visits and audits. This shows that my seniors view me as honest, reliable and mature.

Completing my Private Pilot’s Licence during my final year at high school is an achievement I am proud of. I set a goal and achieved it through hard work and perseverance, funding my training through part-time work at McDonald’s and studying towards NCEA Level 3 concurrently. This is one example of my excellent self-management skills and motivation.

Working at McDonald’s has enabled me to develop a valuable set of skills that I believe help make a successful airline pilot. Performing under commercial pressure without compromising safety or customer satisfaction and being a team player; including good communication skills and leadership. Aerial Surveys has also given me an excellent insight into commercial aviation operations. Pressure to complete missions economically and safely, working together as team and following standard operating procedures.

Having completed the Airline Integration Course with Air New Zealand, I believe I am suitably prepared to manage the demands of working in multi-crew cockpit environment. This is an advantage that will certainly streamline the process of induction into the operations of the company.

Skills I can contribute to the job are:

  • Leadership and  communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Self-management skills and motivation.
  • Honesty and reliability.

I would appreciate having the opportunity to talk with you further to discuss the requirements and expectations of the job and how I could use my skills to benefit Air New Zealand.

Thank you for considering my application.
