Business Analyst

NBC Universal - GolfNow

GolfNow is the Internet’s largest online tee time reservation service, trusted by more than 2 million golfers. Using leading-edge technology, GolfNow provides more ways for golfers to stay connected to their favorite golf courses and tee times through the web, e-mail and iPhone and Android mobile apps. During my time at GolfNow I have worked on a wide array of projects including analytics implementations for mobile app/web, launching a new GolfNow website, a/b testing for revenue optimization and managing the product integration of a new loyalty program.

Key Accomplishments & Experience

  • Shortly after joining GolfNow the primary project manager accepted a new position outside the company. While the team searched for a backfill I quickly took over all project management needs in addition to my BA responsibilities to help the new site launch and transition to SCRUM move forward.
  • After showing proficiency in product management I was given two key solo projects to manage. The first item was the launch of a new loyalty program and the second was the redesign of the blog.
  • With a strong background in analytics I worked with the sales, CRM, and business intelligence teams to overhaul the current analytics implementation to provide clear and accurate data to numerous stakeholders throughout the company.

Bonnier Corp

Bonnier Corp. is one of the largest special-interest publishing groups in the U.S., with more than 30 multichannel magazine brands. I was hired on originally to help with analytics implementation and analysis for their digital properties. I was quickly promoted to a more senior role where I help guide the vision of our analytics strategy by presenting ideas to senior executives and lead two other analysts.

Key Accomplishments & Experience

  • Together with the development team and brand input, I created the analytics framework strategy and requirements for a custom Drupal cms transition for our 40+ web properties. 
  • I was selected for an international job exchange program at a sister company in Denmark where I identified key problems with analytics strategy and implementation that led to the creation of a new position within the company to help them manage analytics.
  • I worked on the analytics implementation of over 30+ mobile apps which included the transition of  25 custom apps to Adobe’s DPS platform.

Online Marketing Manager

Web Resource Management

Web Resource is a start up web agency specializing in online marketing and web development. I started as a part time SEO specialist and after I graduated college I was promoted to online marketing manager.

Key Accomplishments & Experience

  • My responsibilities revolved around SEO, online strategy, social media, analytics reporting, managing the development team, and client relations. These tasks were responsible for 35% of  the company's total client revenues.
  • My biggest contribution to the company was saving an extremely valuable client. They were getting ready to break contract because the account manager was unable to explain several key components of the marketing strategy. I was able to clarify all the issues and when the client saw that our team was more than capable of helping she finished out the remainder of her contract.

Martin Development Group

Martin Development group is a small group of real estate investors who also own several online web properties. I was hired to provide search engine optimization, online strategies, simple web development, and data analysis. I have worked closely with this group on and off since 2007.

Key Accomplishments & Experience

  • My first task with this group was delivering a full technical SEO audit. With the the changes made their primary site saw a 32% increase in rankings and 24% increase in overall traffic.
  • After the Penguin and Panda algorithm updates the sites began to experience penalties due to paid links and thin content that was added when I was not consulting. I was able to get the sites to return to previous rankings by changing site architecture and disavowing problem links.

Safe Bet Pet Sitting

After graduating high school I started my own pet sitting business which I ran and operated through college. This business allowed me to explore and learn many aspects of online marketing  including SEO, web development , social strategy, and sales.

  • I grew this business from no clients to a base of 25 regular clients with revenues averaging between $1,000 - 2,000 a month.
  • To gain traction in the market I used SEO to reach the front page of Google for keywords related to my 5  service areas with 3 of 5 being the number 1 position.
