Enter the Job Details
Describe the Job on the Job Details page.
- Enter an internal ID for tracking the job — this will not be seen by candidates
- Enter a Job Title
- Enter a Location for this job. You must use a valid location so that we can find candidates that are nearby.
- Specify whether this job will require travel
- If travel is required, list the locations that the candidate will be expected to travel to.
- Specify whether this position will allow the employee to telecommute.
- Enter a Description for the position. Use the formatting toolbar
to format the description. - Save the job details.
Enter the Job Requirements
The job requirements will be used to find candidates that might be a good match for the position.
- Select the Company Type. This will default to your company's type but you can change it if necessary.
- Select up to 5 industries that best represent this position.
- Specify how close candidates should be to the location.
- Specify whether candidates must be legally authorized to work in this location.
- Select details about relocation options and assistance.
- Select the target candidates' career level.
- Select up to 5 professions that best represent this position.
- Save the job requirements
Enter the Job Workflow
The job workflow allows you to specify:
- Notification settings - who should be notified when a new candidate applies for this opening?
- Thank you message - what should applicants see after applying for the job?
- Hiring workflow - specify up to 10 steps that will be used to categorize candidates throughout the hiring process. You can accept the default values or replace them with your own.
- Save the job workflow
Preview & Post the Job
Review the job posting, double-checking that each of the details are correct. The job is currently pending and only visible to you. You have three different options:
- Post the Job on VisualCV
- Modify the job make any changes
- Leave the job in a pending state. You'll be able to activate it later from your Jobs page.
Pending Jobs
Pending jobs are like draft documents. They're only visible to you. There are three different actions you can take with pending jobs. Click the selector arrow next to the job to:
- Post Job - Make it available on VisualCV.
- Edit Job - Update any of the job details for this job.
- Delete Job - Erase the job. WARNING: This action is permanent, be careful!
Open Jobs
Once a job has been posted, it will move to the Open Jobs tab of your Jobs page. Open jobs are publicly available to anyone on the Internet and any VisualCV member can apply for the jobs.
Jobs will remain open for 60 days after which, they will automatically close.
Click the selector arrow next to the job to:
- View Candidates - This will show you all candidates who have applied for the position as well as those that might be a good match.
- Close Job - Once closed, this job will no longer be accessible to anyone else. You will still have access to all applicants and matching candidates.
- Delete Job - Erase the job. WARNING: This action is permanent, be careful! You will no longer have access to the applicants or matching candidates, the job will no longer be accessible.
- Renew Posting - Jobs will remain open for 60 days. If you'd like to keep a job open for longer, renew the posting prior to it's expiration date.
Closed Jobs
Closed jobs are no longer available on VisualCV. Click the selector arrow next to the job to:
- View Candidates - This will show you all candidates who applied for the position as well as those that were matched.
- Delete Job - Erase the job. WARNING: This action is permanent, be careful! You will no longer have access to the applicants or matching candidates, the job will no longer be accessible.
