Clinical neuropsychologist Wilfred van Gorp, PhD, teaches students at New York Medical College, Fordham University, and Argosy University as an Adjunct Professor/Faculty. Dr. van Gorp has served on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the American Foundation for AIDS Research and the HIV Neurobehavioral Research Center at the University of California, San Diego. Over the course of his nearly 30-year career in psychology, Dr. Wilfred van Gorp has overseen the neuropsychology testing programs at three top universities: the University of California, Los Angeles; Cornell University; and Columbia University. Dr. van Gorp has also served as the Staff Psychologist and Interim Chief of Psychology at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and held the position of Chief of the facility’s Neuropsychology Assessment Laboratory for nine years. Additionally, he has acted as a consultant to the Standing Committee on Federal Judicial Improvements of the American Bar Association. In addition to his long teaching career, Wilfred van Gorp, PhD, has contributed to the advancement of psychology as an ad-hoc reviewer for numerous industry publications and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles as well, including works recently published in the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology, and Applied Neuropsychology. An alumnus of the University of Louisville, Dr. van Gorp holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts and PhD in Clinical Psychology. He maintains certification from the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology and licensure to practice psychology in California, Illinois, and New York.
