Bore a Jaw

VisualCV Video

The goal of this project was to improve the machinists productivity and reduce the time that the CNC Programmer spends assisting machinists. To meet this need, I developed this just-in-time training video that demonstrated a key task required to properly operate a CNC machine.

I scripted, filmed and edited this video.

Slideshare_16 2009 Training Plan

Met with senior management team and middle management team to identify critical business needs and opportunities. I designed the 2009 training plan that aligned with key business goals.

This is the presentation that was approved by the Board of Directors.

Icon_ppt_16 Succession Planning Process

The objective of the succession planning process was to develop and promote qualified candidates from within the company.

Why?

  • Current senior staff was comprised of 60% external candidates
  • Employee attitude survey scored low in "Opportunities To Get Ahead"
  • Recruitment costs, loss of business intelligence, productivity and morale were impacted when forced to hire external candidates

I designed the process, developed the supporting templates and rolled out the initiative to the senior and middle management teams.

Icon_pdf_16 Level 3 Evaluation - Has the behavior transferred to the workplace?

This performance-based evaluation required Supervisors to observe Housekeepers as they performed their cleaning tasks. Once the tasks were completed, the Supervisors filed the signed and dated checklist in the employees file.

This printable evaluation serves as a training record and also as a job aid.

Slideshare_16 Patient Room Overview

In an effort to create more awareness of the value-add that training brings to our customers, this presentation was given to Distributors and Sales Representatives. It focuses on the new Computer Based Training programs that were developed for health care customers. It describes the targeted audience, tasks, training strategies, testing strategies, reporting strategy, system strategies, pricing and ordering information.

I designed the department's first computer-based training courses that tracked scores electronically. Efforts helped win the Aurora Healthcare contract. The Operating Room CBT program was 32% under budget and the Patient Room CBT was 46% under budget. Both of them contributed more than $1.5MM in sales.

Icon_pdf_16 Floor Care Reference Guide

Redesigned a reference guide used in conjunction with the Building Service Contractor schools, Distributor Sales Representative schools, and the employee orientation schools for all Marketing Managers.

Garnered buy-in and input from stakeholders for changing document that generated $97K in 2005 revenue.

Slideshare_16 WebEx Training - MR Sigma EXCITE

Created the first WebEx training (Sigma EXCITE / 10.X) for MR Service teams resulting in a cost avoidance of $170K and revenues of $90K.

Training met the MR modality Critical to Quality (CTQ) by delivering training via WebEx prior to launch date.

Led and mentored the global team from India that developed the CD-ROM training program to support the product.

Icon_word_16 Six Sigma Project - File Structure Management

This is one of the DMADV Six Sigma projects that I led. It defined a file management process for the GE Learning Solutions team. The process outlined the file structure and naming conventions for all files (Flash, Word, Video and Graphics). Also, training was developed and implemented for the end users.

Project Goals:

  • Eliminate duplication of graphics and/or design
  • Decrease "ramp-up" time for new team members joining a project
  • Locate and access files in less than 2 minutes
  • Maximize productivity by providing a unified process

Note: Before Six Sigma project, estimated time to locate a file was from .5 - 3.0 hours at an estimated cost of $40 - $240. Estimated time of re-work could be up to 3 days and up to $2,000.

Icon_word_16 Six Sigma Project - Specify Team

This large-scale project was made up of 5 Six Sigma teams (Specify, Author, Assemble, Review, Administration). Each team focused on a segment of the current development process.

"Specify" Goals:

  • Streamline and standardize the process for defining learner needs.
  • Create and/or standardize tools and  templates.
  • No more than 2 templates available per deliverable.
  • Only 1 template used per deliverable

Note: After project, 18 documents collapsed into 9 - would have been less if not for file formats.

I've included one of the templates that was streamlined.

DMAIC project recognized as being pivotal in increasing output 38% and slashing costs 54%.
