Responsible for public information services to nine Westchester County school districts. Supervise staff of five writers, three page designers; oversee the production of 50+ publications annually, including newsletters, calendars, special interest publications. Work extensively with local press and school superintendents on public information plans and coverage of local schools. Assist in development of digital information sources including website content, emergency email, content management systems, enewsletters. Recipient of numerous NYS School PR Association awards and a National School PR Association award. Presenter at numerous national and regional workshops.

18-year career as an editor and reporter for group of 10 daily newspapers in this chain. Last position held was senior managing editor, No. 2 position in newsroom. Responsible as senior managing editor for 300 full-time employees, planning daily news report, recruiting, working with writers. As Gannett writing coach, traveled to newspapers around the country to run workshops for editors and reporters.

Developed public information, created all printed publications, handled extensive media requests and interest in the Scarsdale schools, considered one of the best in the nation. Worked with Superintendent of Schools on initiatives that included the District’s first Guide to the Scarsdale Schools, a roundtable TV show, realtor meetings, etc.

Taught undergraduate college journalism at Iona College, a four-year college.

Taught undergraduate English courses at this now-closed college for women. Courses included Composition & Literature, Advanced Composition & Literature, Multicultural Literature.
