Mr. Stan Bent is the Managing Attorney and Owner of H. S. Bent & Associates. Located in Newport Beach, California, the legal services firm specializes in business law, debt counseling, and negotiation. Stan Bent established H. S. Bent & Associates in 1993, and over the last 16 years, the firm has expanded to offer clients estate planning services, including will drafting, trust establishment, powers of attorney, physician directives and living wills. Regarding business services, Stan Bent offers all manner of business entity formations as well as contract and lease review and drafting. Stan Bent has extensive experience in all aspects of Chapter 7 debtor representation, including adversary defense, relief from stay motions, and preparation of debtor petitions. Stan Bent earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interdepartmental Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. He later attended the Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California, for his Juris Doctor. While working toward his graduate degree in law, Stan Bent received the James Brower Achievement Award and was listed in the Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges. Mr. Bent participates in various charitable endeavors, supporting the Surfrider Foundation and the American Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (ASPCA). Stan Bent is also involved with Community Conservancy International, an organization dedicated to preserving green space and natural habitats.

The Surfrider Foundation was established by a few enterprising surfers in Malibu, California, in 1984. Since then, it has spread throughout the globe to include 90 chapters and more than 50,000 members in the United States alone. The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving the world's oceans and beaches. As part of its mission, the Surfrider Foundation has brought together an international network of surfers, swimmers, kayakers, and everyday beachgoers. Since its inception, the Surfrider Foundation has been involved in numerous successful campaigns and lawsuits to improve the quality of ocean water and preserve natural wetlands. Among its accomplishments, the Surfrider Foundation won the second largest Clean Water Act in American history against two pulp mills in Humboldt County. The group also won a lawsuit against Chevron it recognized a breaking wave as a natural resource. For its longstanding efforts in coastal cleanup and conservancy, the Surfrider Foundation won the Renew America Award.
