I have worked in an elementary classroom since 2001 teaching multiple subjects to a diverse group of students. Although in Placentia-Yorba Linda School District, my schools have been highly diverse with a large percentage of Hispanic, Korean, and ESL students as well as many students of higher SES.

Over the course of the years I have team taught a multi-age 3/4/5, a 2/3 combination, 3rd grade, and a 3/4 combination class. With all of these classes I have infused technology into the curriculum through blogging, podcasting, wikis, video conferencing, video productions, and using ANGEL LMS to create a hybrid structure for some of my students.  Currently I teach biology at our independent study high school, La Entrada. I enjoy the new challenges of high school as well as the unique structure of the school. I was brought on board to create new online learning opportunities for our students in high school using this campus as a pilot

Currently I teach Education 407, Computers in Education, to credential candidates both undergraduates and graduate students. I teach this class both face to face and online. Some of the big ideas we explore in this class are the suite of tools included in Google Apps for Ed, social networking and bookmarking for teachers, creating a Personal Learning Network, mobile learning with cell phones and other devices, creating and maintaining a classroom blog to extend classroom learning, creating a professional website for personal use, creating web based learning projects, and researching project based learning.

In the fall of 2010 I started teaching a new hybrid class EdTech 510, New Learning Technologies. This class looks at the history and pedagogy of on line learning, best practices, and tools available to create collaborative learning communities in an online environment with ultimate goal of teaching students how to be effective online educators.

Google Apps for Education offers a free set of customizable tools that enable faculty, staff and students to create, collaborate, share and publish. My training goals are to keep everyone engaged and be sure that they leave with something they can use immediately. I am a teacher and a lifelong learner who is passionate about educational technology.
