Dr. Saeid Shamsian served the urologic needs of residents of the greater New York City metropolitan area for more than two decades. As the attending urologic surgeon and urologist at several New York City hospitals, Dr. Shamsian treated both benign and malignant urologic conditions, such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. Over the course of his career, Dr. Saeid Shamsian has had the opportunity to work for some of the most prestigious New York medical facilities, including Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, and Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Saeid Shamsian belonged to the Medical Society of the State of New York, the American Medical Association, and the America Fertility Society. He also served as a Diplomate with the American Board of Urology. Dr. Shamsian earned his Doctor of Medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 1977. Upon relocating to the United States in 1979, He embarked on several years of intensive postgraduate training in surgery and urology.
During his five years as a resident at Maimonides Medical Center, Dr. Shamsian secured a place as one of the hospital’s most skilled residents. He held posts as Assistant Resident with the Department of Surgery and as a Junior and Senior Resident with theDivision of Urology at Maimonides. In the final year of his residency at Maimonides, Dr. Shamsian attained the position of Chief Resident. In addition to practicing urologic medicine, Dr. Shamsian also instructed medical students at North Shore University Hospital and the University Hospital of Brooklyn at Long Island College Hospital, part of the State University of New York’s Downstate Medical Center.
