Rena Ackerman

Rena Ackerman graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to pursue a career as a pharmacist by attending Long Island University's Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. After earning her pharmacy degree, Ackerman worked at Shalom Pharmacy in Kew Gardens Hills and Riverdale Pharmacy until she accepted a position as Head Pharmacist for ACE Pharmacy in Riverdale, New York. Today, Rena Ackerman resides in Scarsdale, New York. She is active in several charities. Ackerman contributes to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and supports Israeli soldiers by soliciting donations for A Package from Home, a charitable organization that ships them care packages containing clothing and other comforts. A former Sisterhood President for Young Israel of New Rochelle, Ackerman was also assisted with fundraising for the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) when her children attended Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck, New York. Besides jogging and skiing, Rena Ackerman loves to travel. Although she has made many trips to Israel, Ackerman counts Paris, France, as her favorite destination. Ackerman enjoys staying in the Latin Quarter for its proximity to her favorite landmarks, such as Notre Dame de Paris, the Luxembourg Gardens, and the Louvre.
