Kumpulan Parabena Sdn. Bhd

Since 1982, Raziah Mahmud-Geneid has been the managing director of Sarawak based construction company Kumpulan Parabena Sdn. Bhd. The company is currently involved in a number of large scale construction and development projects. These include the construction of two institutions of higher education, which will significantly contribute to an improvement in educational facilities in the local area. Kumpulan Parabena Sdn. Bhd is also working to create a mixed development housing project, which will consist of more than 1000 units, in the coastal town of Bintulu. As MD, Raziah has been heavily involved in the financial and strategic planning of these projects, as well managing finances and physical resources.

Kumpulan Construction Sdn. Bhd.

Running concurrently alongside her other business interests and professional appointments, Raziah Mahmud-Geneid is chair of Kumpulan Construction Sdn. Bhd, a building contractor and property development company located in northern Malaysia. The main duties of her role require her to ensure that the company operates to the highest levels of corporate governance. She also works to promote effective communication throughout all levels of the board of directors, both executive and non-executive. The company itself has previously built the outdoor sports stadium in Sarawak, as well as being actively involved in the completion of the Senari Deep Water Port in Kuching.

Tourism in Sarawak

Raziah Mahmud-Geneid is also heavily involved in promoting tourism in the region of Sarawak and throughout Malaysia. Whilst she works constantly to raise the profile of Sarawak both nationally and internationally, her particular focus has been with the Mulu National Park and the Royal Mulu Resort, where she is an executive director. She was influential in securing world heritage status from UNESCO for the park and has also been heavily involved with establishing the Royal Mulu Resort as one of the leading eco-tourist destinations in Malaysia. Raziah Geneid was also involved in the rebranding of the "Ringha Royal Hotel MIri". Actively involved in the decision making process, she took a large part in its transformations to "Miri Mariott Resort & Spa" under the international Mariott hotel chain.
Raziah Geneid also acts to promote Sarawak as a tourist destination as part of her role as a member of the board of the Sarawak Tourism Board. Not a dull moment in this businesswoman's life, Mahmud- Geneid also acts as chairman of the board of the Borneo Convention Center, a Kuching based facility which hosted events, exhibitions and conferences.

Away From the Office

When Raziah Mahmud-Geneid is not working she enjoys nothing more than spending time with her husband and children. A keen traveler, she also likes to keep fit by dancing and from time to time also likes to sing.

She also understands the importance of helping other less fortunate than herself by making contributions to a number of not-for-profit and charitable organisations including The Association of Welfare of Mentally Retarded Children (PERKATA), Kuching Autistic Association, The Salvation Army Children’s Home and the Sarawak Society for the Blind.

For almost 13 years she has held the position of Honorary Consul to the Republic of Poland.
