About Our Partners

Rob Hopewell – As co-founder and partner of The Heiden Group (THG), Rob has played a critical role in building the company from its inception to $3M in revenue in under three years.  Over a period of fourteen years prior to THG, Rob developed expert qualifications in executive sales leadership, business strategy, marketing, P&L oversight, and human resources management that has enabled him to forge The Heiden Group brand into one of the most respected names in recruiting and consulting for venture-backed companies.  Throughout his career, Rob has held positions overseeing various sales organizations with revenue ranging from $2M to $1B, and has consistently ignited rapid revenue growth.  Rob has helped integrate multiple sales organizations, including Digital Island, Exodus, CWA, SAVVIS, UUNET, and CompuServe, and has delivered millions of dollars of revenue through multiple sales channels.  Before THG, Rob was VP of Sales Strategy, Operations, and Alliances for Cable & Wireless America.

Brad Phillips – As co-founder and partner of THG, Brad has played a critical role in building the company from its inception to $3M in revenue in under three years.  Prior to THG, Brad spent fourteen years in consulting and technology sales management where he developed expertise in building, integrating, restructuring, and managing sales and consulting teams.  Brad specializes in sales and business strategy and has successfully integrated teams for CWA, UUNET, MCI and SAVVIS.  Brad also has a consistent track record of spurring rapid revenue growth while managing both global and national sales teams.  He also has broad management consulting experience and has worked at high-profile firms such as Deloitte Consulting.  These specialties have enabled him to help build The Heiden Group brand into one of the most respected names in recruiting and consulting for venture-backed companies.  Prior to THG, Brad was Director of Sales Strategy at Cable & Wireless America (CWA).

John Ferrel
– As Partner and General Manager of The Heiden Group’s West Coast office, John has been instrumental in expanding THG’s reach nationally while building the firm’s west coast practice from scratch.  John has over 14 years of sales and business development experience specializing in high-yield revenue generation and strategic account development.  His business acumen and affinity for technology has afforded him success in the telecommunications and Internet industries. Throughout his career, John has held essential positions with venture backed start-ups, privately held firms, and global telecommunications corporations, including UUNET, Zephion Networks, AAC Inc., Qwest Communications, MCI, and Sprint. Mr. Ferrel and his sales teams have consistently exceeded expectations, delivering an aggregate of $1B in revenue throughout his career.
