On the left is the navigation bar. The about us page is broken into the Coronado Museum, Dorothy's House and the Land of OZ because those are the three attractions at this museum. Each of these will have a virtual tour of part of the museum to act as a teaser to bring people to see the rest of the museum. OZ Fest is the page for the annual event that is put on in October. People from around the world come for this weekend to meet some of the munchkins, participate in dress up contests and other activities. Dorothy's are the tour guides for the museum. This page will have a picture of each tour guide and a short bio. The lodging and restaurant tabs are to help people plan their trip when they come to visit the museum. It will contact information for all of the places. The contact us page is where all of our contact information will be.
The Trivia and Survey questions are the interactive part of the site. The questions will change each day. When someone answers the question, they will be shown the results and a place to enter their e-mail address to enter for a chance to win a free tour.
The Ozfest link will take the viewers to another page that tells them all about Ozfest and will have a countdown to Ozfest. The Dorothy link will take viewers to bios and pictures of all of the tour guides. Each Dorothy will have her own screen, and the other Dorothy pages can be accessed by scrolling horizontally. Restaurants and lodging links will take the viewers to pages that offer things to do other than the museum and places to stay.
The scroll sections on the homepage will be horizontal. The first page talks about the Seward County Historical Society, the times the museum is open and admission prices. If the person scrolls horizontally, they will find pages about Dorothy's House, Coronado Museum and Land of Oz.
For the home page, the title, address and how far away a person is is shown first. This is so readers are informed immediately of what the site is, the address to put in a GPS and just how long it will take them to get there. Past the lead image are four basic sections. These sections are directions, forecast, about us and prices and hours. These are the most common things that people will need when traveling to the museum. Directions will take them to google maps, forecast will take them to the 10 day forecast for the museum weather, about us has more information about the museum and prices and hours give that information.
On the inside page, I did the about us page. Again, people want the bare necessities as quickly and easily as possible. There is a short summary of each attraction at the museum and a picture.
